Flight attendants have too keep very high standards when it comes to appearance, including hair.. So in this post I'm gonna talk about hair styles!
So let's get started the iconic doughnut is a big must have for all aspiring cabin crew.. I mean you can't beat a classic..
However this is the twenty first century, so which do you choose?
Doughnuts come in all colours, styles and sizes.. So here's a little guide:
Simple doughnuts
(I seem to have lost mine so this image is from Google)
A simple doughnut is pretty much what it say, it's a doungut shaped circle made from mesh, perfect for the "bun" hair style. When I first start using this hair style I used this kind of bun (medium, in brown for Primark I think:)). This dougnut is great for short hair however I have just over shoulder length thick hair and first it was really use full but as I started to grown my hair longer I discovered it wasn't the perfect shape i desired :(. Having longer hair I struggled to tuck away the left over peices..
So I went for a "sausage doughnut" also known as a hot bun.
This is a great too for longer hair, I ordered mine from eBay £2.50 and got both sizes (as shown in picture) however you can purchase the JML hot bun from Wilkosons for £5 (I think).
This dougnut is much easier to get all your hair in ( I will do another post showing a step by step guide how I use this to make a bun). It's also handy because it has a elastic bobble inside of it. However when put it in to round shape, I found it went a bit wonky and not as perfect as I wanted...
So then I moved onto a Claire's round clip dougnut.
I brought this from Claire accessories for £2.50!!! (On sale, original price £5). Although it doesn't have a additional bobble it doesn't create the perfect shape, I would highly recommend this one! And it's the one I'm currently using and have been for a few months :)
You can made the bun shape using a sock! Yeah you read that right a sock, I've not yet tried it myself, but from a lot of YouTube vlogs people are like the sock and it does work!
If your like my and have lots of hair you can try to made a bun shape with out tools but simply rapping you hair around your bobble.
I find you don't get a perfect round shape, and it's normal uneven (as you can see) but it gives a kinda "rustic" look and adding accessories is a great way to make it look better ;)
Your bun can be made more stylish but adding twists and plats..
So I hope you enjoyed this post! Please feel free to ask any questions and share your bun stories! I love hearing from you,
Much love! ❤️❤️
